The monitor does NOT have HDMI. It features standard VGA and DP (Display Port). It does NOT come with a VGA cable, just a DP cable that connects to almost NOTHING! The biggest problem is the EPIC MISTAKE that Dell's design engineers made with this monitor by giving it DP. So basically you just have the old VGA connector with no cables to connect to. The problem lies in the use of DP. I called Dell and they told me to just buy a Dell DP to HDMI dongle part number HJ0J2. So another $25 just to hook up a monitor to my computer's HDMI port. but wait. This cable will NOT work. This is only done to move DP from laptop to HDMI monitor, not vice versa for this 24 inch Dell monitor. You need an active DP to HDMI converter since you are doing the reverse. Oh, and by the way, this converter box costs $125, but Dell doesn't recommend it. Dell doesn't recommend buying an E Series monitor. In short, it's a nice monitor if you expect to connect it ONLY to a PC with a full-size DP (Display Port). ) or you plug it straight into the old blue VGA connector (but again, it doesn't come with a VGA cable, so plan on spending $13-$20 for it)
