This mug kept my coffee hot for a long time but there is NO way the lid can be unscrewed to drink from and still hold the handle. They give instructions on how to unscrew the lid for right or left handed people but it could just be a defect of that particular MANUFACTURING LOT but I would not advise anyone to buy that particular mug. It's too sad. I'm keeping it because it's a nice, heavy, well-made mug, but I have to take the lid off or not use it to drink from it. ALSO, the black plastic piece that snaps onto the drinking hole in the lid fits so tightly that it's very frustrating to open with a tool to drink. It doesn't matter to me as the hole doesn't line up with the handle anyway, but it might matter to someone. I have to spend another $15 to buy one that only presses on the lid and isn't spill proof, which is what I needed since I use it near my computer and other items on my desk.
