Review on πŸ”₯ Satin Smooth Select-A-Temp Wax Warmer: Effortless Hair Removal at Your Desired Temperature by Lucy Baker

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not the cheapest but worth every penny!

I bought one of these for home use a few years ago and it has worked great. One day I picked it up too quickly and the whole block was covered in wax. I tried to scrape off the wax but it was too much of a mess so I threw it away. When I went back online to order another one, it was out of stock. So I bought a "GiGi" heating pad, thinking it would be good, but it ended up being terrible! The appliance did not heat the wax high enough, causing the wax to become too thick. I kept it for a while as I spent so much money on it but hated using it. I finally broke down and bought another Satin Smooth and I'm so happy! Pros: This heater is great because you can choose the temperature and it gets really hot. It heats up quickly. Love the pen, just let it cool before picking it up or you'll end up with a mess like mine. It holds a "regular" sized wax can. It's great that you can wrap the cord around the base so everything is kept in one convenient place. Cons: My only warning to laypeople like me is to be careful when setting the heating pad to its highest temperature. The wax gets very hot and you can easily burn yourself. I usually turn it up to the highest setting just to melt the wax (it's quick) and then turn it down a few notches, let it sit for about 15 minutes and then go back to the wax. As mentioned before, if you have a full jar of heated wax, be careful when ingesting it. This configuration/heater isn't the cheapest, but if you're serious about waxing, buy it! I should also mention that I use a wax collar that fits standard size and it leaves almost no wax on the edge of the heating pad.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky
