Terrible Smell: Throw Pillows, Inserts & Covers

First, the pillows are very soft and look very nice, but they smell horrible. It was so bad that I couldn't leave them in my bedroom because I had a headache and you could smell it as soon as you entered the room. I aired them out in the Texas heat for two days and they still haven't gone away. Even the heavy Febreze couldn't handle it. What are the chemicals in this pillow? You can't wash them so I'll put them back in the heat and hopefully they'll be gone in a few weeks. This is simply unacceptable. At first I thought it was the plastic they were wrapped in (liner and lid wrapped separately) but after over a week I doubt it was plastic.
