was about 15 inches long. 2) I had to drill the hole slightly larger so I could fit the barrel through the hole. In hindsight, maybe I should have left the hole the same size and just pressed the barrel of the gun against the hole. Maybe it worked. 3) The vacuum hole did not match my vacuum which was a Craftsman vacuum. It would be better if I took the time to find a hose or adapter that would allow me to do this without having to hold this device in place by holding the vacuum hose while I'm using the walnut blaster pistol aims. fit perfectly in the valve hole, but when I moved the barrel of the gun, this device detached from the engine flange and I got walnut shells all over the engine compartment. I bought a nozzle to fit my Shopvac and drilled a hole in it that was easier to use. Still not a perfect solution, but less messy. However, it worked. It just took longer.
