Real. In wound care and routine patient care as nurses, we use saline solution because it gently breaks down hardened and crusted "exudate" (wound crust) and dirt on the ventilation hoses. Same goes for babies and toddlers - if they have a snot crust or something, salt towels like these are a MUST! The saline is kinder to skin than baby wipes (even Honest Wipes or Water Wipes), won't dry out skin and penetrates the crust instantly, giving baby an easy time and no tears to break your heart! My toddler hated the fragrances, thinking it was her baby wipes (she didn't have to use them until she was 20 months as she never got sick before preschool) and loves grapes. She doesn't mind if we wipe her nostrils or mouth with this piece! Small bags are great for a diaper bag! Will definitely buy again when I run out! I wish this kit had a plastic flip top valve like the fragrance free kits, instead it just has a sticky valve.
