I own an EOS-M6 and use it mainly as a pocket camera with pancake or 15-45 zoom. Several times a year you need a telephoto camera and I didn't want to buy a native EF-M telephoto zoom for such a rare use. I already have a Canon EF and EF-s glass (I have several DSLRs) so this Viltrox EF-EOS M mount adapter proved to be the most affordable way to mount a telephoto lens on my M6. In fact, Viltrox works great with my EF-s 55-250 STM, 70-200 4L and 300 4L USM. Autofocus appears to be as fast and accurate as native EF-M optics. Note that large L-series telephoto lenses use more power than tiny EF-M lenses. So take an extra battery if you have a big white lens. The fit and finish of the Viltrox is decent, but a cut below that of the Canon, which is four times more expensive. Adapter. The finish isn't exactly matte, it's semi-glossy and doesn't match Canon's mottled matte black lenses. Also, the Viltrox logo is big and ugly. This adapter fits snugly on my M6 but has a little lateral play with a 55-250 STM plastic mount. However, EF lenses with a large metal mount are narrow. Although the specs list an aluminum barrel, mine looks like plastic, but Viltrox may have used a thick plastic-based finish. Despite this, the Viltrox is 100% functional and ideal for the weekend warrior.
