Review on 🐢 Enhanced Extreme Dog Fence - Second Generation -2020- Standard Grade (Essential) Kit Packages by Heather Genevish

Good system, but look for a suitable cable laying machine.

This product works as advertised. I have the following notes: 1) The device will beep and the number 10 will flash if there is an open "loop". The instructions are not detailed. 2) Although I haven't tested it with a dog yet (will start looking next week), the collar beeps when approaching perpendicular to the wire. Walking along the Perimeter Wire will result in unstable collar feedback. I think there should be a timer built into the collar to stop the beep/shock. 3) The surge protector failed immediately, giving me a false open loop alarm. I spoke to the Consumers Supply Company that sells this system on a Saturday morning and they helped and placed a free order for a local replacement. I should receive it next week. Good customer support so far. At the moment it is installed by connecting the cable directly to the control board and it seems to be working fine. We have a lot of lightning around here so having a working lightning/surge protector is very important and is one of the reasons I bought this system. 4) The biggest problem I had was burying the cable. I have a 1000 foot system and my yard is on the Colorado plains. Lots of yuccas, cacti, tufts of grass and uneven ground. I rented a smaller cable excavator from Home Depot ($75 a day). which just "kinda" worked. The machine will likely work well on a typical flat suburban lawn, but not on a more rural piece of land. The device is NOT self-propelled, so you end up having to pull it up hills and over obstacles like yucca and tufts of grass. This results in inconsistent trench depth, increases the chances that you'll accidentally cut a wire (this happened to me once), and it's quite a challenge! I ended up spending 2 or more hours after I was done with the car manually digging up and rewiring spots where the car was having trouble. If I do it again, I'll dig a full trench, hand lay the cable, and backfill. Trust me, if you're installing anything other than a suburban lot, it will be easier in the long run and look a lot better when you're done. 5) You can buy collar batteries at Walmart and save a SET! As I said, the system works as advertised, the customer service has been good so far and I expect many years of service from this. If anything turns out to be different, I'll let you know. 1/25/17: Wednesday a new surge protector arrived. Just 4 days after I contacted the company. Connected and works great! Good customer service.
