Review on πŸ“± OtterBox Commuter Series Pink iPod touch 4G Case (Discontinued) by Brandi Walker

Stunning, elegant case

Introduction This option is for those who appreciate the durability of the Otterbox Defender but prefer something more elegant. Since there are so few cases for the iPod Touch 4g, I highly recommend this case. It's definitely worth the extra cost and protects your iPod better than a thin $1.99 silicone case. Also included is a cloth to clean the iPod screen before applying the protective film and a plastic card to smooth out the protective film. The case itself has handles on the right and left rear corners. There are camera holes on the front and back of the iPod, as well as a hole through which the Apple logo can be seen on the back of the device. There are plugs for headphones and a USB connector, which protect against dirt and other foreign objects getting into the socket. The front home button, top power button, and side volume buttons are raised. Pros The iPod 4g is very thin and light, and the commuter case doesn't detract from that. In fact, the case is much simpler than it appears on the product image. iPod is still very light, but the side handles make it more durable and convenient to use. It's thin enough to easily fit in your pocket, but the body makes it much more durable. The raised volume and power buttons are easy to press. It's also very attractive; A hole exposing the Apple logo on the back gives it real style. The camera does not impede the housing in any way. Also, and most importantly for many Otterbox users, THIS IS DOCK COMPATIBLE (at least my Jensen dock). However, it's worth noting that removing the USB and headphone jacks can be difficult. I actually cut them off (they are soft silicone) because I use the dock a lot and they bother me. Cons While I like this case, I have to admit that there are some minor issues. First of all, the exposed Apple logo on the back will inevitably get scratched at some point. They really should have some sort of clear plastic in the kit to protect it. I suggest sticking a protective film or some kind of plastic there. I also have to admit that the screen protector is not up to date. I followed the directions but I still had a few blisters. They were only around the outer edges, however, and I found them almost invisible when the screen was on. In my opinion, this slightly reduces the quality of the image on the screen. It's a little less bright, but for me it's worth the compromise because when there's a screen this good, it definitely needs protection. If you look closely at the prices you'll also see that most screen protectors on the market are pretty lame, so I have to say this one does a pretty good job. Conclusion If you have an iPod 4g, this case is just as good. we'll see how it goes! Highly recommended for casual music listeners who are more comfortable with three levels of protection. For the casual listener, it's a lot more convenient than the Defender case. In fact, this is the best case for this device. UPDATE: After a few weeks of wearing the screen protector, the bubbles that were on the screen seem to have completely flattened out and are no longer noticeable. I don't know why it happened, but that made the protector an essential part of the case for me.
