I bought this product in the dead of winter when I was fed up with the static and dry nasal passages. On the first day, the stone soaked up and distributed practically the entire bowl of water. After that I was able to pet my cat without shocking him and breathe a sigh of relief. A few days after using the stone, I noticed that all static electricity was gone - no jolts from moving the microfiber blankets - and my room had that slight cool feeling associated with humidity. I am very happy with this purchase and have just bought another one for my mom.
