Great lens but some limitations. It's not a particularly fast lens, so unless you're in the middle of the day it can be difficult to get the shutter speed you need. Sharpness proved better than I expected, but there's a drop off as we approach 300mm. The powerful optical stabilizer combined with my G85's body-mounted image stabilizer helps overcome some of the lens' shortcomings. This won't help you if you're photographing birds or anything else that moves a lot, but it certainly compensates for the slow aperture when you're shooting a still subject. That was the main reason why I chose the 2nd version instead of the 1st. Build quality is good as this lens doesn't have the slight plastic feel of many Panasonic lenses. Overall I am very happy with this lens for the price and the ability to have a 600mm equivalent at this price point is one of the reasons I chose the Micro 4/3.
