Review on 🔴 Grand General 55261 Red 10-Gauge Primary Wire: Premium Quality for Superior Performance by Johnnie Trimble

Regular wire but between 12 and 13 AWG, NOT 10 AWG

The first photo compares the 10 AWG wire I have to this wire. This wire is much thinner. So I took it to work (I'm an electrical engineer) and measured the resistance of a 25ft coil (didn't check the length). This is most accurately done with a high current source. I put 6A through the cable and measured 0.2843V on it. The result is 0.2843/6A = 0.0474 ohms or 1.895 mΩ/ft. According to Wikipedia, a 10 AWG wire should have a resistance of 0.9989 mΩ/ft. This occurs between 12 and 13 AWG. Very frustrating but I think that's what you get when you buy cheap junk on Amazon. If I wanted 12 AWG wire I would buy it, but I wanted 10 AWG wire.

Pros
  • Single wire
Cons
  • Clarity
