Haven't "used" it yet but the size is perfect for our trip to Disney. I can fit two standard 16 ounces. Water bottles in the side "pockets" (one on each side), there's a zipped pocket on the outside for your phone or keys, and a zipped pocket for sunglasses or whatever I'm not worried about "losing" . The top zip has a large opening and a row of 'credit card' holders sewn in along with a small zipped inner pocket. With two kids I think it will hold everything you need without being too heavy and since it's not a backpack I won't sweat much carrying it around all day! Nice adjustable shoulder strap for easy portability.
