They are used to hold my tarp but I had to fix them before I could use them. The knurled metal strut at the top of one bar was loosened and fully extracted during my test setup. I fixed it with super glue and it seems to be working fine. But it makes me think about their long-term use in the field. I disagree with the words "Heavy Duty" in the product name. These are not expedition quality sticks. These are auto camping poles - lightweight at best. They're "good enough" to be covered with a tarp, but no better. I'm not sure I would trust them in a big storm but I'm sure time will tell. They are also quite high, which I knew from the more or less accurate product description. But because of their height, it was difficult for me to use them. I cut off six inches from the bottom of each one and that did the trick. They are made of aluminum and are therefore easy to cut with a pipe cutter. These rods are affordable. The bag is terrible but I have another bag so it's not a problem for me. You are not terrible. You are not great. But they, uh, exist. and seem to serve their purpose after a refurbishment.
