The title speaks for itself. I bought it for the speed. Connected to USB 3.0 and read/write to SK Hynix Gold S31 SATA Gen3 2.5" internal SSD (1TB capacity). I get a consistent write speed of 90MB/s and a constant read speed of 160MB/s. On average, can I'm reading about 10GB per minute from a SanDisk Extreme Pro V30 128GB SD card, the card says it'll be 170MB/s so I was hoping to get a little closer to the stated maximum but I'm taking any day 160MB/s! Maybe it's only with USB 3.2? Overall I'm happy with this card reader. This is the fastest reader I have today and it's important to deal with large (tens of gigabytes per file) video files from my camcorder work. I like the magnetic mount on the side of my PC case. If you have magnetic storage (really? Okay, maybe on a NAS or something) this might not be the option you want. The bottom part is soft, so if you use a magnetic mount , your PC case will not be scratched. I use a magnetic mount and it's strong enough to hold the reader when I insert and remove memory cards.
