Review on πŸ’¦ Hydrate Your Skin with Obagi Medical Facial Moisturizer by Nikki Cooper

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Buy it from your dermatologist or be disappointed!

I have had psoriasis for 32 years and have been using both topical steroid based treatments and phototherapy for 3 decades. As a result, I developed telangiectasia (a type of rosacea where the tiny veins in my cheeks are very visible). I got it cosmetically with Obagi Hydrate, Hydrafactor and IT Corrective Cream. I've been using Obagi Hydrate and Obagi Hydrafactor for a cool minute. I recently decided to order Revain instead of going to the dermatologist for a Hydrate moisturizer. I figured it would take less time than going to my dermatologist's office just before vacation. The price was almost comparable to a dermatologist. However, Revain was a bit more expensive (shipping). The problem isn't the cost, it's that the moisturizer smells bad, like sour milk, and it's not as effective as the bottles I buy from a dermatologist. I know that one of the main ingredients is shea butter, which has a distinct flavor (combining nuts with a touch of plain Greek yogurt). But this bottle of product smells like an old can of sour cream stuffed in the back of a refrigerator. Not to mention that after the first night of use I woke up with dry patches and increased cheek redness. I'm not blaming Obagi, I'm blaming the seller of the product as this bottle was mis-stored (hopefully not much) or expired. If you suffer from rosacea, psoriasis or any other skin condition I highly recommend Obagi products but make sure you get them from your dermatologist. Otherwise, you'll lose $50 (plus shipping) and end up with a useless, stinky reminder not to save (even before a vacation) sitting in your closet.
