The mattress topper is a little tight right out of the box. After washing (even if it's a king size, it fits in the washing machine like a bed sheet) the fabric became more supple and soft. The material reminded me of a terry bathrobe. Was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the product for the price. I have seen similar mattress pads or the same quality for twice the price of this one! I would recommend this product if you are looking for a mattress topper on the market. The mattress topper slides over the bed like a sheet, making it extremely easy to use. It also doesn't make a "rustling" sound when you move across the bed like some other mattress pads. It's machine washable, 100% cotton, and since putting it on my mattress I've noticed a noticeable difference in my allergies, which seemed to flare up as I went to bed.
