Review on SMSL M100 USB DAC AK4452 DSD512 32Bit/768kHz - High-Fidelity Audio Decoder (Black) by Jared Poinson

Overview: I bought the SM.SL M100 to complement my near field active desktop monitors. I was very happy to receive the package today 10/05/2019, mainly because of the M100 DSD support with the promise of better audio fidelity from my Qobuz and Tidal subscriptions. hoped. 2) I downloaded the M100 driver from SMSL website and installed the driver; Plugging and unplugging the USB cable connected to the M100 DAC from my 18 month old DELL XPS13 - 9350 64bit laptop - following the instructions in the "broken" English manual that came with it. 3) The driver was not found in the Windows Control Panel under Audio Devices, then as recommended in the installation guide I4) Disabled support for driver enforcement and rebooted the laptop.5) TUSB driver from SMSL website still didn't work Found even though I have a TUSB driver icon appears when I open NO DEVICE. CONNECTED6) No option to connect TUSB driver in TUSB sound control panel7) Then I uninstalled M100 driver from website and reinstalled which was successful second time as instructed9) Still no new USB audio driver available Found selection from Windows 10.10 Sound panel) At this time I don't know if there is an M100 driver file on the SMSL website. It is poorly written or corrupted and frankly wastes wasted hours of my time which is too valuable to put up with such a poorly designed and executed product. In a world where access points (wireless routers) and wireless cards were manufactured and sold in the late 1990's, this is unacceptable for a company like SMSL if you want to thrive in today's world. Your products must be ready to use; If your software folks can't do it for the world's most popular operating system, then frankly, they shouldn't be in this business.
