No longer suitable?
I've been wearing big children's sneakers for years because the width fits my very short and wide feet. My last pair in size 4.5 was too long (don't know why) so I ordered size 4. I struggled to get my foot in the shoe and the fit just wasn't right - still too long and narrow in the midfoot. So I had to send them back. I hope if I buy an older model it will fit.
