This is the perfect solution for those whose original fairing on their truck is damaged. As I said, this is hard plastic and not the original soft part, but I don't see any disadvantage in that. This part should last as long as the rest of the truck. Color and texture may appear slightly different from other trims, but not everything wears or fades evenly on a 20-year-old truck. Overall it fits well and I'm happy every time I hop in the truck so I don't have to look at a broken fairing piece anymore!
