I bought Yi 4 pk. 1080 indoor surveillance cameras. I was skeptical but very glad I took the risk. I placed them in different windows to the outside as I like to observe from the outside. They work great during the day and at night in lighting the outdoor area. When the area is not lit, the IR light will be reflected on the glass, but they are designed for indoor use. They perform very well indoors, day and night as intended. I've observed some shady people ringing my doorbell when I'm not home (I have a camera in the window by the door), as well as a neighbor's cat, a family of raccoons, possums, and numerous squirrels. I had an issue where they stopped alerting me to activity (which I see some others did) and contacted Yi customer service. They responded quickly to my query and worked with me to ensure all of my phone settings were correct. It turned out that the problem was in my phone settings, power saving mode, disabling the application and NOT the cameras or their application. I particularly like that I can insert my own SD cards to save and view past events and that I don't have to pay for a "cloud" subscription. I don't know of any other security camera that offers this.
