First of all this is my first razor of this kind as double edged razors are not usually the first choice when a woman is looking for a razor. For most of the past two decades I've shaved my legs and other areas with the Gillette Mach 3 - it always seemed "good enough" so I've never tried anything else. But recently I've decided to branch out and move away from plastic waste cartridges to reduce my environmental impact and save money. I did a lot of research and spent days looking at the many different razor deals here on Amazon. I chose this razor because it had a long handle (better for shaving legs) and looked sturdy but stylish and seemed like it could withstand any further disaster/apocalypse. /Disasters that 2020 may bring upon us. It arrived and I stared at it for a week, feeling a little intimidated by its weight and afraid I might cut an artery and bleed. This is a heavy, beautiful, classic razor. I really like its weight - it glides with so little effort. The vintage brass look is also very appealing. The included blades are decent and my first shave with a W a DE razor resulted in only 1 scratch! And it was the smoothest shave I've had in a long time, and it was actually kind of a relaxing, meditative process. It's a pleasure to use a well-built, durable, self-care tool. It's a great piece - I definitely recommend it and I think it's under $20 and well worth the money!
