I avoided buying any boar bristle brushes for years because previous ones I owned years ago quickly developed a really rancid smell that I didn't want anywhere near my hair. I'm not sure why that happened, but it turned me off of them completely. Recently, I was looking for a product that would be gentle on my hair, but tame the frizz that won't go away due to my area's constant humidity. I decided to just give a boar bristle brush a second chance and I liked the look of the Belula boar bristle brush. It helped that it came with a tool to remove my hair from it and three clips to help me style it. The first thing I did was smell the brush--I was pleasantly surprised that there was no odor. It does the job and actually helps with my frizzy hair. I have used it for a few days now and still haven't detected any bad smell from it. I think it is a keeper. I may order a second!
