Bought this to revive my Gamecube that's been sitting in a box for nearly 10 years. The converter does work.takes the component video and RCA audio and pumps it out to HDMI as advertised. However, the audio/video does drop occasionally so I've opted to exchange this adapter to give it a 2nd try. Hoping it's just defective - tried multiple known-working HDMI cables and the audio/video drops continue. I know for a fact it's the connector on the HDMI converter because holding the connector into the socket with more force prevents the issue. Definitely a bad connector on the first converter. Fingers crossed that the replacement works properly.
