The Velcro needs to be longer to accommodate the high arch that often accompanies wide feet!
Bought these based on the good reviews but don't think they will fit as your child has a wide foot. I found them wide at the top but the strap was short and kids with high arches couldn't wear them because the strap just didn't go all the way to stay buckled. Was very disappointed with the length of the strap as these are very cute shoes and they seem very well made and supportive.
