Review on πŸ–ŠοΈ Key-Bak Mini-Bak Compact Retractable Pencil Holder with 36" Nylon Cord, Steel Belt Clip, in Black (0057-202) by Danielle Mitchell

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Saved my KEY-BAK MINI-BAK pencil from West Coast Manufacturing. from a garbage can.

KEY-BAK MINI-BAK Pencil Pull. the back came off. In my opinion, the error was due to poor design. There is a very thin clear plastic that holds the clip in place. This plastic is fragile and broke when I grabbed a carpenter's pencil and pulled it out. I find the string and recoil spring used on this retractor are well made and of good quality and should last a long time. The clip and thin plastic are the weak link. I saved the mini-bak retractable handle from the trash can with a wing washer and some CA glue. I found a wing washer with the same diameter as the retractor. I used CA glue to attach the metal clip to the wing washer after filing the surface of the clip and washer for better adhesion. Then I flipped the retractor over and made the broken spine face forward and CA glued a combination clamp with washer to the front of the retractor. So far so good and everything holds up. I think if the manufacturer had spot welded the metal clip to the metal back at all, it wouldn't have broken so easily. rainy slow day and I like salvaging things from the garbage heap and making them better than they were originally. I'll post here if my fix doesn't work permanently. I would give 1 star if I couldn't fix the retractor. I'm curious to see if people read the KEY-BAK MINI-BAK Pencil Pull. Manufacturing on the west coast. and will they respond to my review.
