My daughter has messy, unruly hair and was looking for something to straighten before school in the morning. She's only 5 so I didn't want to use an iron on her just for fear of burning her. This works great because I can control the temperature, it doesn't get too close to her scalp and completely tames her hair. It doesn't straighten it completely like a flat iron and that's not what I'm looking for. However, I keep the temp pretty low and have never tried to go higher. If it were, it could make it totally straight. I was also surprised that it came in a very nice box with a velvet pouch and the brush itself feels very comfortable. Very happy with this purchase and how much easier it is to get ready for school in the morning.
