The maximum volume measured on the radio shop's sound level meter is 80 dB, which is actually quite loud, even though the level meter sits unnaturally deep in the headphones. As far as I can tell, kids like lower volume levels than adults, so I would actually support an even lower maximum volume for kids' phones. The audio fidelity is not extreme, but the bass is enough for watching movies. I admit that I had the worst headphones. I don't think my daughter will notice. On the other hand, I won't use them to save my own ear while playing VST piano from a midi keyboard. I wouldn't recommend using any headphones to beat aircraft noise unless they have noise-cancelling capabilities. Airplanes are quite noisy, and using higher headphone volumes to overcome the ambient aircraft noise would not be a good idea. Consider noise cancellation. They fit my 6 year old daughter and at least adjust reasonably.
