Just a regular wiper, in this case for the rear window. There's a J-hook (which fits over the existing wiper part that doesn't need to be replaced) so you can take the old one off and attach the new one. Takes less than a minute. It's not original equipment, but it fits and does the job. I might not want to get "compatible" parts for the inside of the engine, but for something like this it's perfectly acceptable. It is recommended to change the wipers about every 6 months. Not me. I'm waiting for them to show signs of wear, which can take up to a year or so. A part does not need to be replaced as long as it performs its function. A nice thing about this item is that you get 2 wiper blades. So when it's time to upgrade to a new one, it's already on the shelf, waiting to be used. The cost is just under five dollars, so less than ten for a pair. You should probably look for dimensions for your specific vehicle. For example, my windshield wiper is 21 inches on the driver's side, but 20 on the passenger side and 11 on the rear.
