The check engine light was on. The codes said time was up. It's a good thing I didn't replace the timing chain as I thought. I pulled out the vanos solenoids that were in the head and the screens were mostly clogged. I installed these new ones. Now there are no engine failures, the car works well. Easy to use, they are held by a bolt. Check your timing errors before thinking about fiddling with the timing chain. Jim. (Mini Clubman 2009, 145,000 miles.)
