When making fabric face masks I couldn't get elastic or pleated bias tape so I bought this medium weight 1 inch wide twill tape for ties. Two 40 inch lengths were measured, each length centered on the short sides of the mask, folded width to cover the front and back side edges of the mask, and sewn to form a continuous top band 1/2 inch wide x Obtain 17 inches in length, closed short end masks and 1/2" wide by 17" wide. long bottom tie. I just had to tuck in each end while sewing on the ends of the tie to avoid crumbling. Ideal strength and flexibility. Didn't seem to shrink in the wash.
