Does not tolerate temperature changes.

So this unit was installed outside the trailer for 2 weeks. No rain, just hot and cold days (hottest around 95, coldest around 40). In terms of functionality, this device has not yet disappointed. The ability to "read information" disappeared within a week. If you look at the picture, you can see that in less than two weeks the plastic has already turned yellow and the display is no longer good. I've only owned this device for 2 months at the moment (apparently after the 30 day return policy). I have one of the remote displays and it works great but the problem is I can't look at the display while on the device. Pair unforgettable things with these devices. DO NOT attempt to use more power than intended. Using a 12V 30A charge controller results in a power draw limit of 360W. If you use an inverter you might be able to run multiple bulbs etc but don't try to use the full power. If you need more than 360W, connect the inverter directly to the battery system, not through this device. It's only intended for small loads (e.g. in an RV it will be your LED lights, maybe a fan or two, that's it). So with all that said, functionally it works fine. I had connected two 305 watt panels in series (max values in series: (2x48V max or 96V) at 30A max = 2800 max power consumption) and could easily connect two more panels in parallel to the first two (again, limiting my maximum power) . Voltage is still up to 96. but now I'm down to 1200 watt input instead of 600 watt input). So that seems like a pretty reasonable inverter. If it weren't for the line limitations and cheap plastic/defective display I would probably give this one 5 stars.

Cons
  • Slightly cracked
