Review on πŸ“Έ Vello FreeWave LR Wireless Flash Trigger and Receiver Kit by Katie Moore

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Expensive but extremely effective.

These triggers and receivers are a bit pricey in my opinion, but they do the job well. I love that multiple receivers can be connected to a single trigger and I love how easy the multi-channel system is to use. The range and power of the signals from triggers to receivers is also great (see history below), so that's a plus. I really can't complain, I like her. Story: My classmate has the same Vello trigger and receiver. Last month I was filming indoors in a studio and he was shooting a subject outside in the shade. Remember: He and his belongings were on the other side of a thick, "tornado-proof" brick and metal wall (no windows), so of course there's no cell phone coverage in and around this building. I was busy taking photos when I noticed my flashes were firing randomly for no reason. I brushed it aside as sensitive flashes (they tend to fire randomly if pressed too hard) and kept working only to find that it happens even when the device isn't being moved or nudged. My subject annoyed the occasional flash, as did I, and I was about to switch flashes when I noticed the ambient sounds of the dirtiest curses wafting through the air outside. I figured he had flash issues too, only to end up merging 2 and 2 together. I decided to experiment. I took a picture, my flash went out and then my friend cursed outside. and then cursed. Then my flash randomly turned off after a few moments. Then I stuck my head out the door and asked what channel he had his stuff tuned to. "Channel one, why?" My stuff was tuned to channel one too. In other words, the signals from the triggers are strong enough to penetrate walls. brick and metal walls. Needless to say, we both found the whole situation hilarious. 10/10 worth the money for the lols.
