I'm giving three stars because they seem to work. I mean - they absorb some water. I have water that is leaking out VERY slowly in my basement so I was hoping to get it under control when it happens. I've found that they stop the water they encounter, but they don't really take on much water. They got boggy very quickly. I was able to hang them up to dry but the instructions say they took about 12 days to dry. They remain quite nasty - the water that goes into my basement is pretty clear, but you can imagine anything that stays wet for 12 days will get covered in mold/fungus. After two uses, two bags had holes despite not being in a hard condition (stepped on, pulled, etc.). I had really high hopes, but they didn't really work out for my application.
