Velcro defect on braces, splints and braces

I read many reviews before purchasing this splint. This is the first tire I tried. I sent the first one back thinking it was a manufacturer fault. The straps that go through the slats and are attached with velcro sewed the edges of the velcro so tightly that it poked through the fabric and scraped my opposite leg through the night so I ended up having to take the splint off around 5am . I sent it back for a replacement. When replacing exactly the same problems. I'll try again with a spare and wrap a first class bandage around the velcro sections and see if that helps. . It only closes with velcro at the bottom, but a better solution would be to loop it around something at the bottom and zip it up, rather than just tape it to the bottom fabric piece. I'm a plus size woman and this fits without a problem. It adjusts to many sizes and I wear a size 10 women's shoe and it still feels "big" on my foot. Sleeping in it wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have the velcro scratch issue. I was surprised how comfortable it was to wear to bed. I don't know how to solve the velcro scratching problem other than wrapping or tape it. But when you spend that much money on a tyre, you might think they don't need to 'fix' any problems! like open toe design. Makes it cool to use and my foot doesn't sweat. Hard plastic makes walking difficult when you have to get up at night to go to the bathroom. The finger attachment is in the middle of the plastic, making it difficult for the thumb to loop and snag. I don't understand why they didn't design it more towards the big toe. because I think it works better that way. My finger was numb for half an hour after I went to bed. All in all not a bad tyre, just a few small tweaks would have made this tire great!
