I have many of these in all colors (red, white, black). I agree with other reviewers that some of them (unboxed) feel stiffer and softer, but once the damper is in the strings I certainly can't tell a difference in performance. Regardless of the color of my string, I can't tell any difference in the stiffness of my string. If you have a tight vertical string pattern (18-20) vertical strings, it might be harder to squeeze and squeeze a slightly stiffer color between the middle two strings. I play with a very open 16x18 string pattern so that's not a problem for me. You just work and stay. I'm not a pro and only play 1-2 times a week but I've never had a single dropout or bounce.
