Review on MEGUIARS D16616 Ultra Polishing Fluid_Ounces by Jessie Zdunich

Having been in the auto parts business for many years I enjoy using the D166 as I am always trying to learn time saving techniques and products and initially this product did not disappoint. I used a D166 with a 5 inch microfiber cutting pad on a DA polisher and the product cut very quickly and worked relatively well. There was very little haze, but that's to be expected with a more aggressive pad and is the case with most all-in-ones. That being said, the polish is very workable and it only took me two passes to get the correction I needed. It washes off very easily and leaves a great shine and smooth finish. So far I would rate it 5 stars. But I've found that waterdrops, my proponent of protection that comes with quality sealers, just don't last. After 30 days and just one car wash, they are not proof of protection. Water doesn't drip and paint isn't much easier to clean than unpro protective paint. I was really hoping for more than a few weeks of protection with this product. I don't see a place for this product in my home collection due to the lack of protection. I would rather buff the paint and take the extra step of applying a quality sealer or coating that will last at least 6 months. But I think it makes sense for professional detailers doing cheaper paint corrections in bulk. Since I didn't expect much in terms of protection from my previous experiences with all-in-ones, I'm awarding 4 stars because of the many detailed products. This is a 5 star product compared to other multifunction devices available.
