This mat is typically used to collect dirt and debris and keep the house clean, but I bought mine to use around the house. Not only is it an entryway rug, it is also the perfect rug to put under an interior door to keep your pet from scratching and ruining your rugs. I looked at other products made specifically for this purpose but they were very expensive and only protected one side of the door. I have a couple of cats that I have to separate when eating as one of them is fed special natural food, so I had to protect the carpet on both sides of the door. It was an inexpensive solution and it works great. The mat is very heavy so it doesn't move or get out of the way. It also fits perfectly under my doors so cats can scratch the mat without damaging the floor.
