My 17 year old mare tore her DDFT (deep digital flexor tendon) in her hind leg a few weeks ago. We wrapped her leg in cotton and veterinary tape every day which became a nightmare. My girlfriend went from the easiest horse in the world to the most dangerous in just a week. I desperately needed a solution that would make it easier to change her bandages and ultimately soothe her wild side. When they arrived she had to be sedated to have her leg bandaged. We gave her a sedative, put a bandage on her and left her alone. She became a different horse in 24 hours! The next day I was able to remove the bandage, change the pad, and put it back on without being sedated or kicked. And the swelling on her leg was significantly reduced in just one day. Doesn't matter! She wears them, doesn't struggle with me taking them off and back on every day, and they wash like a dream! I only use one so I just change the velcro and throw the used one in the washing machine. I also threw the whole boot in the washing machine and it looks brand new. In the meantime I have ordered training boots from me for another mare to prevent injuries during training. I am a customer for life!
