First off I should note that this is my first 4k monitor (finally switched from 1080p) so I might have a pretty biased opinion as this is my first 4k gaming experience. I've had the monitor for a week now, no problems have been encountered with it. I connected this monitor to an RTX 3080 FE and it works great. Setting up G-sync on the monitor was very easy as you just need to enable it in the settings (I didn't touch any other settings on the monitor) and check in the Nvidia control panel if G-sync is enabled. enabled (detected automatically and installed without input). I find G-Sync to be my favorite feature as all my games run smoothly including Microsoft Flight Simulator. I would like to say more about the color quality, but I have a basic 1080p monitor and I really have nothing to compare it to. I think the monitor was worth the money, and while I don't care about having RGB lights on the monitor, they're still pretty cool. Below I'll list some notes about the monitor so I don't sit around and talk mindlessly. Pros: - 4K and 144Hz refresh rates - G-Sync compatible (do a little research and you'll likely find that compatible monitors work just as well as full G-Sync / G-Sync Ultimate chips etc. d) - RGB light ring on the back panel. It's really cool to see the glowing ring on the back glowing, and there are a few profiles that you can change to your liking if you like it. Personally, I'm not interested in circus lights anymore. - Nice colors and screen quality (my opinion of course) - Not a single dead pixel found - IPS glare (mostly smoky white glare at the corners of some IPS monitors not noticed night scenes) - The stand allows for a variety of positioning options - Easy to install Cons: - Pay attention to the height and depth of the stand. It adjusts up and down, but the lowest position is still higher than I expected. It fit in my space just over 1/4 inch tall. The stand moves quite far away from the screen, and the legs slide forward slightly. (I'll update the actual dimensions when I get a chance) - no HDMI 2.1. This is very new technology and I don't care because the latest display ports give this monitor the best performance. The bottom line is that unless you were planning on connecting this to a PS5 or Xbox Series X, unless you insist on HDMI, it doesn't matter at all. Don't expect 144Hz at 4k in this case and that's an HDMI 2.0 limitation, not a monitor either. Additional considerations: Find out the actual dimensions of the monitor, including the stand, to ensure it fits well in your space, or prepare to use VESA wall mounts. I was a little surprised at how much overall depth the monitor occupies. Do yourself a favor and pair it with a high-performance GPU. A beautiful screen and high refresh rate mean little if you can't feed them. HDR600? I haven't tested HDR at all and I'm not interested. I'm not impressed with HDR in its current implementation by game developers (or maybe I've just never seen an HDR 1000 sweatpants monitor work), so I don't think I'll ever enable it. However, I will say that if this is your thing you should look to other reviews for this information, but be prepared to pay a STEEP premium for the latest HDR technologies. All in all, you get what you pay for and the combination of products. Quality, specs and features, looks and performance - I think this monitor is the best you will find for under $1,000, at least from all my research.
