The applicator that comes with these eyeshadows, with its slanted tip on one side, allows me to blend a beautiful dark brown eyeliner around my eyes. upper and lower lashes, way better than I could ever do with liquid liner or eyeliner. I will readily admit that I don't have the best makeup skills and my lashes are quite uneven and not thick. Used as an eyeliner, this shade evens out my sometimes blotchy mascara work (it's about the same color as the brown-black mascara) and has a nice effect. Other lighter colors are neutral, easy to apply, and fairly error-proof. While the shadows disintegrate in their compact packaging, prompting me to throw them away well before they were nearly finished, I would put this down to pretty rough handling on my part. I've still managed to get plenty of value out of my first compact to justify the cost.
