The bracket is nice and strong and has 5 turns but the screws supplied are THRU THRU and gets negative stars - hence the mixed 3 star rating. We installed 2 new toppers with 2 new bracket kits. The next day we had moderately strong winds (gusts of up to 50 km/h maybe?). Only one of the guides was extended, the other was "in" (stowed position). The next day I walked around and noticed that the topper was very crooked; It turned out that one of the brackets had all the screw heads broken off (6 screws!). Not thinking straight, I started moving the strut and drilling more holes. The first (supplied) screw I tried to install broke the head - I was amazed. Now I've decided that I need to remove all the installed screws and replace them with quality screws. After going to the store I went and bought the same size but in stainless steel. 10 of the 15 installed screw heads broke when unscrewing. pure OTHER! I didn't have the equipment to remove the broken bolts from the slide so all 4 mounts had to be moved far enough to get to the solid area and drill new holes. Apparently the setup is looking a bit shabby now. But for a trip to Florida and back from Maryland it was fine. The toppers are great, the mounts are great, do yourself a favor and DO NOT USE THE SCREWS PROVIDED! just a note; I thought at first the wind must have been stronger than I thought, but when the screw heads on the non-extended slider also broke (so not as much stress as on the extended slider) I realized there was a big problem.
