Receipt of the device and first use went smoothly and without problems. The problem quickly became keeping it clean. It's damn impossible to get to all the nooks and crannies of the water tank. Mold forms quickly in a water tank (Pacific Northwest, so our state flower is mold). I tried different methods to clean this device but nothing helped. After about a month there was so much deposit in the tank that I couldn't remove it and was concerned about the health risk it now posed. In addition, there must be something wrong with the plastic from which the water tank is made. Even with a weekly or bi-weekly cleaning, there was an odd coating that wouldn't wash off. No matter what I tried, nothing worked. I can feel it so it's not just a water stain. It looks like it's embedded in plastic. The only redeeming value? I didn't spend too much money so I'm not really upset that I had to throw this humidifier away.
