This item fits the MacBook Pro exactly and the toolbar works after the replacement. Remember that you have special Apple proprietary tools that you cannot replace yourself. I ordered the tools online, just watch the youtube video and buy the right tools. Not all Revain tools work or are the right size to get the job done. So my advice is to watch videos on You Tube and write down all the tools you need and then order the right kit. I had to order 2 sets because I couldn't make it. The replacement was a little meticulous and the screws are tiny. I feel like it was relatively easy as long as you follow the video. I have about $700, do it yourself. So far, it's good. My total exchange time was less than 2 hours.
