Love this lens. I do 80% of what I do with a macro lens and having switched to the Nikon Z6 I still have a few options that allow me to autofocus - which my old eyes need. I had a Tamron 90mm G2. That was great for a DSLR. But it's also the last G2 lens in Tamron's lineup that's due for a firmware update for the Z-series cameras. The date is unknown. Tired of waiting, and while it produced nice images, the weather protection was rubbish (lots of internal dust on Prime). I liked the original Sigma 105mm lens when shooting with the Pentax, so I decided to try the Z6 + FTZ adapter. I've never spent $800 on a Nikon 105mm (soft lens IMHO). Well the Sigma works great with the FTZ adapter and despite its heavy side balances pretty well on my Z6. Image quality is fantastic, and despite the lack of weather protection, after over 5,000 shots (most of them in dusty, muddy flower fields) I have nothing for indoor dust. The great price (I paid $360 for this UK gray market copy) and superb handling/image quality make me doubt I'll even bother checking out the upcoming S-series macro.
