I've been wanting to try this incense stick for a long time because it looks so magical. The incense had to be half burned before it started dripping into the holder. It was only then that I realized I had to line up the hole for the incense with the hole in the holder. Frankincense smells awful! There are different colors and I smelled it before lighting it but I didn't smell anything. But when lit, it smelled like rotten wood around a campfire. I've only burned one and now I have to scavenge in a cone with a hole in the bottom for some incense that smells nice. Final Opinion: I like the holder and I have an incense stick (disputed) that was thrown in the trash.
