Loaded with bikes on my Thule hitch mounted bike rack, my van's taillights are blocked (not good - with all the US safety regulations, I'm surprised there aren't requirements for bike rack lights, and there are several options for luggage rack lights). After reading a review that said this unit uses a flat quad, I bought it and mounted it on a bike rack. This is the ideal length; It wraps precisely around the rack and mounts to end supports designed for a fourth bike (the rack's elastic straps keep it in place). This light bar has not moved on a recent 1500 mile ride including a long dirt road and is still not working. Great product, also for use not on the tailgate! Edit and Update: This light bar is also used on my hitch for extra safety!
