My first Kitchenaid laptop was an excellent machine that lasted 7 years. When he died I bought a new digital version. It was a disaster with unbalanced drivers throwing food everywhere. I gave up a year later when one of the hammer inlets would not engage the hammer. Broken piece of plastic in the intake. I decided to try Kitchenaid again. I went back to a simpler 5 speed manual. It worked just as well as my original device and I loved it. Then after a year of operation the same problem with the inlet. Broken piece of plastic. Beater couldn't sit in the hole. Otherwise an absolutely good device in the bin. Buyers beware: you'll be buying one of these every year, year after year, if you choose to go this route.
