Review on Stay Warm and Dry with the Skull Cap Helmet Liner Running Beanie: The Ultimate Winter Thermal Head Hat by Mark Colbert

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Does exactly what it advertises.

I bought this beanie/hat to use when running in cooler weather (40/30 and under. Where I live it rarely gets really cold) instead of my regular running hat, mainly because of the high amount of positive feedback/evaluations it has received. My main reason for buying it was that I wanted something to cover my ears and keep them warm in addition to my head, especially in windy weather, and a secondary reason was to absorb sweat without overheating. My thoughts... Pros: • Size: I have a fairly large head (plenty of room at the top) and it stretched out to comfortably cover it and my ears without feeling tight or pinching in any way. It might be a little loose if you have a very small head, but I can't say for sure; Since it's very stretchy, this might not be a big problem. • Warmth: My first impression straight out of the box was that it's very thin and extremely light, so I was curious to see how well it would keep me warm. Don't worry about my first outing (mid 30's with a 'feel' of 30, wind 7-10 mph, humidity 50% and light fog) because as soon as I got outside and started running I knew right away how cold the rest of my face felt nothing compared to feeling nothing on my head/ears. It also worked on subsequent runs with temperatures ranging from the coldest high 20s/30s to the warmest mid/high 40s and the wind hovered into the mid double digits so I never felt too warm. I also noticed that it's comfortable in the 50+ degree range. • Sweat absorption/wicking: It also performs well in this area. Granted, I don't sweat that much when it's cold, but still...it was pretty wet after a three-mile run, but my head felt pretty dry. It also dries surprisingly quickly (within hours) • Odor: Since I usually run 4-5 times a week, I don't throw my hat/cap in the washing machine after every run (although I can rinse it in the washing machine). . Automobile). Bathroom sink). But even after several runs (including after the first run with no rinsing) it had NO noticeable odor, which I would call AMAZING to say the least. and use again the next day. Although the product description makes no claims in this area, it passes the test with flying colours. • Construction/Durability: Appears to be very well made (no noticeable seam problems etc.). Having only had it for a few weeks I can't say how well it will hold up over time. However, it comes with a lifetime guarantee that's hard to beat. Even if it wears out after a few years, based on my first impressions I would happily buy it again. It's not really a plus or minus, but it does muffle the sound a bit (obviously) because it covers your ears. It's just something to keep in mind depending on your intended use, especially if you're running/cycling/driving in traffic or around other people. smooth appearance like most photos. The vertical seams just above the horizontal seam have a slight "bump" or an odd crease...see my photos or the photo of the woman with the charcoal cap in the product listing as it's easier to see than my drawings . Keep in mind that I have a pretty big head so it's stretched out to cover it and it's not completely flat yet. If you have a smaller head, it will most likely be more visible (like the gray cap picture). It doesn't affect performance in any way, so I didn't downgrade my score, and also because it's just personal preference (and a bit picky, but might be more important to other people). Based on my observations above, I think this product really deserves the high praise from the customers and it is worth every penny.
