This in my new car helps reduce the new car smell. I have it in the center front cup holder. It has a very light scent that is actually very pleasant. For some of these car air fresheners, the initial smell is too strong and overpowering. It just gives off a mild, subtle scent to keep my car smelling fresh. User manual is not the best. I will say that. You insert a wooden stick into the bottle and then put a wooden lid on top. For a while my lid was unreliable and I didn't want it falling off in the car. But if you press it firmly onto the dowel, it sits securely on top.
